WORSHIP

Jesus was the ultimate host. Jesus gathered diverse crowds of people and made room for everyone to sit at the same table.

In our St. Matthew’s community, we follow Jesus’ lead as we gather for worship, study, prayer, and acts of justice, mercy, and connection.

We care about investing in the lives of our young people, and them being able to learn, grow and connect in community!

CHILDREN  |  K - 5TH GRADE

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kin-dom of heaven” belongs to such as these.

We believe our children offer us a glimpse of God’s love on earth, and we empower them to make a difference in the world around them, serving God in their own lives.

Through various activities and events throughout the year, we allow children to learn about God’s love while feeling a part of a special community and making lasting friendships.

MIDDLE SCHOOLERS  |  6TH - 8TH GRADE

Middle School Students have a place to belong and connect at St. Matthew's!

The Middle School Ministry is highly relational, accessible and engaging for students to build lasting friendships and explore their own understanding of God and faith. Students are encouraged to ask questions and serve the community as they also get acquainted with the bible and roots of Christianity. We will engage students in discussion and activities that speak to their struggles, hopes and dreams. We will create a fun, safe, joyful space for our youth to belong and grow in their relationship with God and with one another.

During the fall of 9th grade, students who are interested in affirming their faith and being Confirmed will have a weekend retreat to walk through “what’s next” in their faith journey. Confirmation services are held during worship services on All Saints Sunday; the first weekend in November.

YOUTH  |  9TH - 12TH GRADE

The High School Ministry calls our students’ faith into action.

During hang-outs, we seek to challenge what the students know, what they believe, and what they question with topics and input from our Youth Leadership Team, a group of students who work together with adult leaders on issues relevant to their lives today.

The High School Youth Group is a place of belonging and a time of application and practice through various activities, events, discussions, and service opportunities.

Every facet of this program is a deliberate attempt to build community and to create an atmosphere in which we can tackle the questions and issues that our youth face today. We seek to challenge ourselves to grow closer to God and to one another as we explore young adulthood as people of Faith.
